Frequently Asked Questions
What services does Peace Garden Grappling Club offer?
Do you offer beginner classes?
Are private lessons available at your club?
What should I bring to my first class?
Bring comfortable workout clothing, a water bottle, and a positive attitude.
Do you have classes for children?
How often should I train?
As often as your schedule allows. We offer a variety of class times including mornings, evenings, and weekends. So, you can train in a way that fits your life. That said, we strongly recommend training at least four times per month (with our Limited Membership) to build momentum, retain techniques, and see consistent progress. Even a steady, manageable routine can make a big difference over time.
What does a typical class look like?
Warm-ups are done on your own prior to class. Once class begins, we gather for high-level instruction that includes both demonstration and hands-on coaching. You’ll then move into drills to practice the technique being taught, followed by live rounds where you can apply what you’ve learned in a controlled, supervised setting.
Our classes include practitioners of all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced competitors. The gym is built around a culture of teamwork, safety, and growth, where training partners support one another and everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace. Coaches closely monitor training to ensure a safe environment while helping each student progress.
Do I need to be in shape before starting?
No. You do not need to be in shape before starting at Peace Garden Grappling Club. Getting in shape is part of the process. Our classes are designed for beginners and experienced athletes alike, and you’re encouraged to start exactly where you are. You’ll build strength, conditioning, and confidence over time as you train — no prior fitness level required.
Have more questions?
The best way to learn is to step on the mats. Whether you’re brand new or returning to training, we’ll help you get started with confidence.
